We know that this will be a very anxious time for many of our clients, volunteers and supporters so we are sharing this list of telephone and online mental health support that might be useful to you.
All these services are still available as of 25/03/2020 but this may change over time, we will try to update as the situation changes.
Breathing Space provides a telephone support line for people in Scotland, it is available between 6pm and 2am on weekdays and 24 hours at weekends. Call them on 0800 83 85 87.
The Silver Line are a telephone support line for older people, they are available 24 hours per day. You can contact them on 0800 4 70 80 90
Living Life To The Full provide free, online CBT courses for a variety of issues including postnatal mothers and long term health conditions. Visit their website for more information.
7 Cups provide free online listening service, have a very useful Q&A section that covers a variety of issues and also have an option for paid one-to-one support from counsellors. Visit their website for more information.
Young Minds provides online support specifically for young people including a useful resources section with information on supporting younger members of your family and information about a variety of issues and different types of treatment.
Headspace‘s website and app offer a variety of meditation, guided breathing and sleep resources, some can be accessed for free but to access the full catalog you would need a paid account.
Mind is one of the UK’s leading mental health charities and their website is full of helpful information about supporting yourself, others and general mental health information.
Calm is available as a website and app providing support for a variety of issues. Some of the resources are available for free while others require a subscription. We would particularly recommend their free to access blog post ‘Take a deep breath‘.
Cruse Bereavement Care have a number of resources on their website as well as a helpline number which is open 9.30am to 5pm on weekdays. Call them on 0808 808 1677
Samaritans offer a free helpline for a variety of mental health issues, available 24 hours per day on 116 123.
CALM provides support online and via their phoneline specifically for men. Their phone line is available between 5pm and midnight every day on 0800 58 58 58
